Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is excited to reveal its most thrilling event yet: Spooky Nights. Every Friday and Saturday night in October, the Pine Lake trail will be transformed into the first haunted trail in Memphis and will feature more than half a mile of scares. The haunted trail, which is appropriate for ages 12 and up, is staffed by 200 volunteer actors each night, and the costumes and special effects are of the highest caliber, thanks to screenwriter Duane Craig, who has worked on several box office hits.
Spooky Nights will also feature some fun, but not frightening options for all ages. Guided nocturnal nature hikes will let visitors experience wildlife at night. The hikes will also connect nature and art with the help of talented Shakespearean actors who will be stationed throughout the trail to perform nature-themed scenes.
Another way to experience the Park at night is on a horse-drawn hayride driven by the headless horseman himself.
For those looking for a high-adventure option, zombie laser tag games will put humans against zombies on a fun-filled course.
I was so excited to be able to attend a media event to see a sneak peek of the new Spooky Nights. When I arrived, we took a hayride driven by the headless horseman to the trail with a couple of spooky guests on board. Once we arrived at the trail entrance, there were a few other actors awaiting our arrival and let me just say we were there in daylight and it was pretty scary.
The volunteer actors are amazing and I love they all make their own costumes which is pretty neat. One of my favorite costumes was the stone statue.
Not only does the Haunted Trail seem awesome, the family events will be great and I can't wait to go back with my family.
So mark your calendars now and get your tickets for this awesome new Fall event and help support the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy.
