We all know how messy infants & toddlers can be. My washer and dryer are running constantly with clothes after every meal. With most bibs, they only catch the top half and food easily rolls to the bottom. I look for length, how much liquid they absorb, and how easy it is to wash stains off.
How big are they and if they are washable
I look for one that is resistant to liquids leaking through, staining, and baby removing it. Also, it should cover baby well. :-)
I look for bibs that have cute designs on them.
