Thanks for clicking!Being new parents, my husband and I have been trying to make sure week keep our daughter healthy. We know starting early will help her make healthy choices as she gets older. Instead of watching tv at night, we take a family walk to spend time together and stay active.
The biggest concern for our kids is teaching them the right habits and following up in our schools. Henkel and Memphis’ Healthy Kids & Teens program strive in helping school kids do so.
This summer, children attended “Camp Get Fit” at Grahamwood Elementary. Where they built a garden and learned about all of the different fruits and vegetables. The CampGetFit Foundation seeks to provide underserved school age children with fitness and nutrition programs that will help to instill a commitment to healthy living for a lifetime.
The Henkel company is giving one lucky school a $25,000 grant to improve youth fitness. Clintonia Simmons, founder of Healthy Kids & Teens says she would use the grant to build a garden at another school so that even more kids can participate in growing their own fruits and vegetables.
