So I love to save on groceries, I would really really love to save on GAS! IT IS SO EXPENSIVE IN THE SUMMER TIME!! Well my favorite store to shop at, Kroger, is really stepping it up!
Kroger has always given 10¢ off a gallon (valid for 1 fill-up) for every 100 points ($100 in groceries) that you spent (before coupons by using your Kroger Savings Card. So if you had 300 points you had 3 separate 10¢ discounts for 3 different fill ups.
Now, the points you earn + fuel discounts will add up!
100 points = 10¢ off a gallon, 200 points = 20¢ off a gallon, up to 1000 points (earned in 1 month) = $1.00 off a gallon for an entire fill up! |
Just to remind you there are more ways you can earn points than just buying groceries:
- $100 in groceries = 100 points (10¢/gallon)
- $50 in gift cards = 100 points
- 2 prescriptions filled (not paid for with government healthcare) = 100 points
And many of our Memphis Shell gas stations are also participating for redeeming your gas points, however you can only redeem $.10 off at a Shell station.

Does the gift card points work with a Kroger gift card? I use those to by my groceries already.
See, I'm confused about that. Will it start asking how many points you want to redeem? Right now, we don't spend near enough to get the $1 discount each month...if the points carried over month-to-month, maybe we'd get there eventually. :) As it is, there are 2 of us filling up using the points. So if we have 200+ points, we can each fill up with the $0.10 discount.
I wonder how they're going to handle this...
