Shana thought she would share some of the ways she saves big at Kroger.
All of this only cost her $5.71 and she used a $5.00 Kroger gift card she won so she paid only $0.71 out of pocket. Bill before coupons/priced reductions$17.74
Bread:In my quest to dramatically reduce my grocery bill I now only use the Kroger Wheat Value Bread ($.78). This can always be found on the shelf even though the other Kroger bread is 10/$10 occasionally I find name brand bread cheaper using coupons
Kroger coupons: I received a coupon from Kroger for any Oscar Mayer lunch meat 120z.-16oz size obviously I chose a 160z product. I also received a free Dannon Danimals yogurt (4- 6 count again I chose the larger size product). They mail me coupons for items I buy at their store!! If you do use your Kroger card and do not receive personalized coupons mailed to your house, first go there web-site and register your savings card number and input your address. Click here
or speak directly to customer service next time you are at Kroger and make sure your address is correct in their system.
Manger's Saving's Aisle: Every Kroger has them, go there first! I found these muffin mixes for $.89 (they are normally very expensive almost $3.00 a box as they are "healthy" I used a coupon I found in the last box I bought for $0.75/2 so $0.52 each and of course each box has it's own coupon for next time!
Kool-Aid: The kids' have never had this product before but my turning 5 year old wants to serve Pink Lemonade at her up-coming b-day party, these are on sale for 10/$10 and there were coupons hanging on the display if you buy 10 get 2 free.
Special Milk-Lactose Free: My 3 year old is lactose intolerant and we tried everything, Lactaid was o.k. she kind of would drink it, but it was expensive and she wasn't thrilled. A year ago I tried the Kroger brand lactose free and have not looked back! Not only is it her favorite, but they often reduce the price as they will have too many on the shelf.

I have bought the $.78 Kroger Bread in the past but isn't it a smaller loaf? I remember comparing the prices one day and it really wasn't any cheaper since the "Value Bread" was smaller. When I have a coupon for other breads and they are on sale, I will get them of course :) You can get some good bread for little money if you buy at the right time
I will check the size difference next time I at Kroger, thanks for the comment!
We go through a lot of bread too, and the value bread is smaller and not really a better deal. Now keep your eyes peeled for when they run the the super long bread on for 10 for $10..ugh I can't remember the brand, anyway there are frequently coupons too. When you can snag the big loaf freeze half of it and it will last longer. They have not had it on sale in a little while soooo I bet it is coming soon!
