I just wanted to bring to everyones attention that the cereal and other promotions that several of our sites have posted, may not work at your local Target. It all depends on the manager and cashier that you have. I've been getting feedback on this from readers and wanted to share with you!
There are some Targets/Managers that will not take any coupons if the coupon is for over the amount of the product.
Example:
ReNu Solution in the travel section $1.52
Coupon is for $2.00 off ANY
2 times it worked for me and this time they wouldn't do it
SpongeBob Toothpaste travel section $.52
Coupon if for $1.00 off ANY SpongeBob
I tried to buy 2 that added up to $1.04 would not take it
Then the Free Cereal bowls posted. I did this 3 different times this week and it worked. I did have the manager question it b/c it showed a box of cheerios on the coupon, but I said it says ANY GENERAL MILLS cereal. I just had a couple of other people that tried it and their Target did not take it b/c they said it was for the Box, not Cups (although it doesn't say that).
So, if you do try certain scenarios, please leave me a comment so that we all can share our experiences. For those that it did not work, I'm sorry!

I have done the General Mills twice at the same Target. The second time, the lady was VERY rude about the transaction. She got the manager and he said that it was fine. The lady was not happy about it but I got 20 more. Thanks for sharing this great deal.
Thank you so much for sharing and I'm so GLAD that it worked. I've been reading blogs tonight that ALL are mentioning it (becoming a bigger deal than I realized) and alot of them are saying that management is saying "its for the box" although it's not specified! I know that Corporate is hearing from alot of us!!!!
Like I said it worked 2 times for me and 1 time questioned...but they did it for me.
My mom went this morning to get a few for herself. The man question her about the transaction but need take the coupons. She called corporate when she got home but no one can give her a straight answer. Guest relations told her that she would need to talk to online and transferred her. They told her that the online coupons are for online. My mom tired to explain the coupons to them but they transferred her BACK to guest relations. Therefore, they have no idea what it going on themselves. I just thought that you would like to know.
I didn't follow the first part. They did take it or didn't. Thanks for trying to call. I emailed yesterday, followed up with a phone call, was transferred to a voice mail (supervisor), got back on line and sent another email...and NO answer today!
If enough people complain around the country maybe action will be taken. Good thing is I did post the coupon policy which helped me with a few questions, but still my darn answer about the cereal coupons NO ONE can answer. They play dumb and say "it's for the product listed" well NO crap! That is what we all are doing. All we can do is keep trying. I did get about 50 bowls!
The cashier did take the coupons but not until I stood my ground. He tried to tell me I had too many coupons ( I had 20 but for different products) then stated I had to put the coupons on each product. I told him Ive been standing here holding these coupons and NOW you tell me. He said I was hiding them in my hand. Can you believe that!! I was so angry I got in my car and called the manager on duty. He said the cashier was wrong!!!! I called corporate who told me the online coupons were for online orders only. So I told them...OK I have a coupon for apples so can you please ship me some apples. She said we dont sell apples online. I got no where with them either. Like you they either play stupid or transfer you around. Oh yeah....she also said, read the back of the coupon!! LOL I gave up and hung up the phone!
That ticks me off! That is the same thing that happened to me. The cashier started putting my coupons in and she got so frustrated she threw her hands up and said she couldn't do it, just too many! I said call your manager and we'll handle it. She took alot of them, but didn't take my ones for the products that were less than the coupon was for...so not that I got the corp policy if I didn't have my kids, I would march right up there and get my money back. It's crazy. Some places are great and some places are lazy! Oh well I save to much money doing it, for it to discourage me, but like you I hold my ground now. You know I had a manager check me out at Kroger a couple of weeks ago and she was so excited about my coupons and how wonderful it was!
What Target were you at? I was at the Germantown Target. Just wondering if it was the same store.
I was at Collierville. I know another lady that went to the one in Germantown and they wouldn't do it, so she went to the one on Winchester/Riverdale I think and they wouldn't do it.
My daughter and I went to the Target on Winchester a few weeks ago and the manager there was extremely rude. She said one per transaction and said " You WILL go back to the end of the line each time." Now I'm all for trying to be aware of others in line and doing whats right with my coupons, but she was down right RUDE!!! I'm tied of being treated ugly, and looked down upon for using coupons.
